Hey guys, so it is time for yet another SnG practice. The game have just started and I am watching the other players to know the table. So far one player is allready out before I play a hand. He pushed with Q2 suited against JJ when the flop came 444. Q2 didn't hit and is now out of the game on the second hand. Someone limped my blind and I just checked it. too early to defend blinds or I won't be able to pick up the blinds later that mathers. I didn't hit nothing and he raised so I gave him the pot.
A3 offsuit, not the best hand but I was on small blind and no one else wanted to play so I decided to raise it. Got a call, not what I wanted. Flop Ks 5c 9s, raising with half the pot. Got called. Ac hits the turn. I now got a pair of aces and got a call on the flop putting him eighter on a pair of kings, nines or flushdraw. I raise him half the pot. Called, okay that is probably kings or flush draw I think. When river comes up 6d and there is no flush draw I decide to bet 2/3 of the pot. Opponent folds. My hand was bad and I took a big risk but I think I read him quite well. Since he didn't raise anything I knew he wasn't too sure on his hand and didn't have a 2 pair or three of a kind. And since I got a high pair and he called before the ace hit the flop I didn't put him on an ace. the straight draw was closed and wouldn't make sence for him to call that bet. I picked up a pot on 540 chips.
Whoa AQ this is a nice hand I think, but no one wanted to call my 3 times blind raise. But won the blinds atleast.
JQ suited on limper and I am on bigblind, decide to raise. Got called. Flop 369 various colours, I bet 1/3 of the pot as a continusion bet but gets reraised and I fold out. Losing some of my chips. Tighten up please! These players are better than the once I met last night. Night time seems to be the better hour to play at or maybe my game is not what it should be.
Picked up a few more blinds to be back at 1500 where I started. Now I need to wait for more players to be knocked out before playing any more hands unless it is really awesome hands. Waiting for my AA. Did you know that the chance to get AA as your holecards are 1 in 212 while the chance to get AK in the same colour is 1 in 332. AA together with KK and QQ dominates AKsuited though. I wouldn't mind picking up AKsuited anyway.
52 hands dealt and the second one gets knocked out. I wasn't in the hand. Player 1 had AA and player 2 had AT offsuit and for once the best hand wins. Making us only 7 players around the table. Still too many to start playing more hands, just picking some blinds preflop but trying to keep my tight image.
Right now we got 2 big chipleaders while the rest of us are at around 1400 chips. I need to pick up a hand soon to secure my place in the money. Blinds are at 50/100.
Picking up AK offsuit from smallblind, get raised, Pushes my smallstack all in. Get called by AJ offsuit. Flop comes, J55. And from there on I don't hit nothing and the lucker wins. That's poker.
So ending at a 6th place. What have I learned, I picked up too few pots so I become shortstack. I need to be able to play a few hands even though I don't get any cards to keep my stack up. I don't do good at tighter tables.Defend blind more often, play more loose on tight tables but when I get called fold out, small ball might be a good idea. Raising 2/3 of the pot preflop to steal blinds with a potential hand. if they call you got a playable hand that can be good at the flop, if the fold, great you pick up some blinds. If you get raised, fold out, don't want to be in that game and you didn't lose too much chips to find out. Average anyway my play was okay, didn't play stupidly and was in controll. Was abit looser than yesterday without intention. This is a good thing on a tight table though. I will play another game later but for now I am done documenting.
Damdidamdam!
